Bode Chemie is a German chemical company that specializes in the manufacture of disinfectants and hygiene products .

history

The Hamburg - Stellingen- based company emerged from the Bode & Co. bacillol factory in 1924 and was partially owned by Beiersdorf AG in the 1980s . On January 1, 2009, Bode Chemie GmbH was taken over by Paul Hartmann AG and thus integrated into the Hartmann Group .

Products

In the 1960s, after the work of Peter Kalmár at Bode Chemie, the first alcoholic hand disinfectant was developed that was able to establish itself on the market. The product with the brand name Sterillium , like the surface disinfectant Bacillol, is often part of the standard equipment of hospitals . Bode Chemie also produces other products for disinfecting skin, medical instruments and surfaces. Some of the products also contain skin care ingredients.
