Sternstrasse (Hamburg)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rating road in the district of Hamburg-Sternschanze connects the north-south direction camp road and the road New Kamp , it runs parallel to the 125 m west thereof extending Schanzenstraße . The areas adjacent to the street are used partly for commercial purposes and partly for residential purposes. Many buildings on the eastern side of the street are already in the St. Pauli district .

From Sternstrasse, following from north to south, Kampstrasse , Ludwigstrasse, Augustenpassage and Beckstrasse all branch off to the west, with Kampstrasse leading a short distance east to one of the entrances to the Hamburg meat wholesale market . The cult pub "Erikas Eck" is located on the northeast corner of this junction.

About 100 meters before the confluence of Sternstrasse with Neuer Kamp street, the “Schlachthofpassage” footpath branches off to the east with a passage through the buildings of the former Central-Schlachthof and merges into Marktstrasse . Today's entrance to the Rindermarkthalle is located directly opposite the aforementioned confluence .

At house numbers 27–29, residential buildings are laid out as so-called residential terraces , here called the "Zollischeck-Terrassen".
