Szczecin patties ( Polish pasztecik szczeciński ) are a type of pastry used in Polish cuisine . It is a type of filled donut made from yeast dough . The name is derived from the city of Szczecin , which is considered the place of origin.

In preparation, you fill dough with different fillings. Typical are minced beef and pork, sauerkraut with mushrooms and cheese with mushrooms . Then the pies are fried in vegetable fat . They are eaten as a snack or with clear beetroot soups .
