Steve Moore (Animator)

Stephen D. Moore (born November 18, 1962 in Millville ) is an American animator and film director.

Life

Moore studied animation at the California Institute of the Arts from 1981 to 1985 and began working on the film Starchaser: The Legend of Orin as a phase artist after leaving the studio . As an animator, he was then significantly involved in the film The Brave Little Toaster by Jerry Rees . After joining Hyperion Pictures, Moore went to Walt Disney Studios and worked as an animator on short films and series episodes. In addition, advertising animations and the storyboard for the Disney World attraction Alien Encounter were created . After a short time back at Hyperion Pictures and the storyboard work for Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas , Moore devoted himself to working as an effects animator and storyboard artist at Disney from 1993. In addition to his work as an animator, Moore also worked as a director and producer and created the short film Redux Riding Hood in 1997 , which was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Animated Short in 1998 . His short film The Indescribable Nth was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2000 for Best Animated Short Film, but was not nominated.

Moore occasionally works under the pseudonym Oscar Moore , for example on Fractured Fairy Tales: The Phox, the Box, & the Lox (1999), The Indescribable Nth (2000) and the television series The Prouds (2002). In addition to short and long animation films, Moore has also worked as an animator for numerous commercials, including for Froot Loops .
