The Russian company Kuibyshevazot ( Russian АО КуйбышевАзот , English KuibyshevAzot OJSC ) is a Russian company in the chemical industry with headquarters in Tolyatti ( Samara Oblast ).

The plant was founded in 1961 a few years after the completion of the Kuibyshev reservoir (Schiguljowskaja GES) under its first director Ivan Andrejewitsch Krasjuk (1921–2007) as Kuibyshevskij azotnotukowyj zavod (KATS, Russian Куйбышевский азавовойд ). Production began in 1965. Caprolactam has been produced since 1974, and polycaprolactam since 2003.

Kuibyschewasot is active in two business areas: production of caprolactam and products from it (e.g. polycaprolactam (PA6)) and production of ammonia and nitrogen fertilizers .

With an annual production of 190,000 t of caprolactam and 150,000 t of ammonium sulfate and polyamides , the company is one of the largest manufacturers in Eastern Europe and the CIS . In 2014 a total of 1.32 million tonnes of ammonium-based fertilizer were produced.

In addition to its own production facilities, Kuibyshevasot is also active in joint ventures with Linde AG ("Linde Nitrogen Togliatti") and DSM . A joint venture was established with Trammo for the production of granulated ammonium sulfate.

Germany

In 2011, Kuibyschewasot bought the Rudolstadt-Schwarza- based synthetic fiber manufacturer STFG Filamente GmbH . STFG is a spinning mill for synthetic filament yarns . 175 people are employed on the site of the former man-made fiber combine.
