Stairs were a measure of weight in the salt works .

  • 1 stair of brine = 5 plaustra ( Fuder ) salt = 907.2 kilograms (20 Öseammer )
  • 3 stairs = 1 gate = 6 Kumm = 60 Sal
  • 1 pan = 49.76 liters = 48 pots = ⅓ Öseammer
  • 3 pans = 1 Öseammer = 149.28 liters = 144 pots
  • 60 Öseammer = 1 gate = 5 choirs = 15 plaustra salt = 2721.6 kilograms
