Stig Larsson (director)
Stig Håkan Larsson (born July 20, 1955 in Skellefteå , Västerbotten County ) is a Swedish film producer, director and author.
life and career
Larsson grew up in Umeå . He received his training from 1977 to 1979 at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. In 1979 his first novel Autisterna was published . He was a founding member of the avant-garde magazine Kris . In addition to internationally successful stage pieces (for example Sisters / Brothers, which he himself staged in 1994 as a director at the Royal Dramatic Theater in Stockholm), Larsson published over 20 books, including poetry as well as prose and novels.
His first directorial work was the television film VD , which was followed a year later by Ängel , which was produced for the cinema . In addition, Larsson wrote scripts for various television productions. He was an actor in his own film Ängel and in the film Forbrydelsens element ( The Element of Crime ) by his fellow director Lars von Trier .
