Stig Sundqvist

Stig Sundqvist (born July 19, 1922 , † August 3, 2011 ) was a Swedish footballer and former national player.

career

In the 1940s Sundqvist played for IFK Norrköping in the Allsvenskan and was able to celebrate several championship titles with the club. In 1950 he moved with his club mate Knut Nordahl to AS Roma , where he was active until 1953. After he was relegated from Serie A with the club in 1951 , he was immediately promoted again.

Sundqvist played eleven international matches for the Swedish national team . He was part of the Swedish team at the 1950 World Cup , which was third in the World Cup. After moving to Italy, he was no longer nominated because the association did not consider football professionals.
