The Stina Rock is a 33  m high and conical cliff rock on the north coast and near the northwestern tip of South Georgia . It is located in front of Cape Pride on the east side of the entrance to Elsehul .

Probably it was Lieutenant Commander John M. Chaplin (1888-1977) of the Royal Navy , surveying officer on the RRS Discovery from 1925 to 1927 and head of the hydrographic survey team on South Georgia from 1928 to 1930, who in 1930 did survey work in the Elsehul the rock Name Pillar Rock (English for pillar rock ) gave. However, since this is more common for Pillar Rock in Bird Sound further west, the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee decided to rename it in 1957. It is named after the then into a lightship repurposed whalers Stina the South Georgia Whaling Company in Leith Harbor .
