The Stingray is a torpedo used by the Royal Navy and manufactured by BAE Systems .
The Stingray weighs 267 kg and is 2.6 m long. It reaches a speed of 45 knots and has a range of almost 4.5 nautical miles . The maximum fighting depth is 750 m, use against surface targets is not possible. The Stingray can also be dropped from helicopters and the Nimrod reconnaissance aircraft .
