Pole

The Stipprute is a fishing rod, which usually to fish for whitefish is used. An exception is the tip fishing , in which an artificial fly is offered at the Stipprute.

The advantage of the pole over other rods is that they are usually used in lengths of more than 3.5 meters. Thanks to modern, lightweight materials, such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics ( CFRP ), lengths of up to 17.5 meters are achieved.

Poles are available in ringed or unsinged versions. Ringed rods are often telescopic, that is, extendable. The line is obtained from a small stationary roller that is attached to the rod.

Unringed rods are available in telescopic versions as well as plug-in rods , ie the individual parts can be plugged into one another or taken apart in the correct order. These detachable rods are also called poles. Since you don't use a reel, the line must be attached to the tip of the rod. This is done using various knotting techniques.

The length of the line generally depends on the length of the rod and the type of rod. In the case of a telescopic rod, the line is always as long as the rod itself, otherwise the fish cannot be landed properly, ie it cannot be nested. However, this is no longer practicable with a plug-in rod> 5 or 6 meters. Therefore it is possible to use lines that are shorter than the rod. When a fish bites, the lowest segments of the rod are simply dismantled until it is as short as the line. The shorter the line, the more precisely you can fish. Since there is no line reserve without a reel to make a fish that is too strong by "putting the line" tired, a rubber band is used in the tip of the rod, to which the line is attached by means of a connector. The strength of the elastic band is selected according to the size of the line and the type of fish expected. It is also possible to install the elastic over one, two or three parts of the pole. However, the elastic band is mainly used for sticking in pole rods and only in exceptional cases with telescopic pole rods.

Other required materials are a small pose and a small hook , as well as small cord weighting split leads .
