The Stirling Lions Soccer Club ( Stirling Lions for short ) is a soccer club from Stirling , a suburb of the Western Australian capital Perth .

history

The club was founded in 1958 by Macedonian immigrants as the Macedonia Soccer Club . After a temporary dissolution in 1967 and the re-establishment in 1969, they finally played, now as West Perth Macedonia , in 1980 for the first time in the top division at state level. In the years 1983 to 1985 the club won the State Championship of Western Australia three times in a row, in 1987 the fourth title followed. It had previously been renamed Stirling Macedonia in 1986 and moved into the Macedonia Park stadium, which is still in use today . Two further state championships followed in 1994 and 1995. In 1998 the name was changed to Stirling Lions . In 2014 they qualified as vice cup winners for the first edition of the FFA Cup , but failed there in the first round with 0: 4 against the reigning Australian champions Brisbane Roar .
