Stoplesteinan

Stoplesteinan is a stone circle or domarring in the municipality of Egersund in the municipality of Eigersund in Rogaland , in Norway on the Dalane coast.

Stoplesteinan consists of 16 megaliths that form a circle 21 m in diameter. Some of the blocks are four feet high and one meter wide. The old road "St. Olav Weg" between Egersund and Sokndal passes the stone circle. The age of the stone circle is unclear, but comparable systems are dated to the Bronze and Iron Ages.
