Stora Tuna

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stora Tuna is a former Swedish municipality in the historic Dalarna province . It existed from 1863 to 1972. The main town of the municipality was Romme.

Borlänge was only a small patch within the municipality of Stora Tuna . Only with the settlement of industrial companies and the railway connection, Borlänge grew vigorously and was spun off from the municipality of Stora Tuna in 1891. In 1972 the community finally became part of Borlänge and Romme is now a district of Borlänge.

Today's Dala Airport is located in the former municipality of Stora Tuna.
