Jet cutting
All manufacturing processes are referred to as blasting , the cutting effect of which is based on a blasting medium accelerated in the working direction . The abrasive can be moved directly (centrifugal wheel) or with the help of a carrier medium such as compressed air or water. With cut-off blasting, the cutting effect can also be achieved without adding an abrasive blasting medium, for example when cutting with pure water .
According to DIN 8589, jet cutting is divided into several groups. In practice, however, this subdivision is not always given, since a system can often serve several purposes. In addition, the shot blasting can be subdivided according to the method of shot acceleration.
