Stratos Pagioumtzis ( Greek Στράτος Παγιουμτζής , * 1904 in Ayvalık , † 16th November 1971 in New York City ) was a Greek Rembetikosänger and a member of the famous quartet Rembetiko "I Tetras i Xakousti tou Peiraios" (Η τετράς η ξακουστή του Πειραιώς).

He was also known by the nickname Stratos the Lazy (Στράτος ο τεμπέλης) or simply Stratos . His family came to Piraeus in 1918 . Even as a child he had to work as a day laborer. He earned his living mainly as a fisherman. Later, as a ferryman (γεμιτζής), he supplied ships anchored in the port with food and supplies. He started singing in the late 1920s. His first recordings were made in 1933. Together with Giorgos Batis , Anestis Delias and Markos Vamvakaris , he founded the quartet in 1934, "I Tetras i Xakousti tou Peiraios" . During the Metaxas dictatorship in 1937 he was convicted of drug use and exiled to the Cycladic island of Sifnos . His beautiful voice made him famous, which is why well-known composers such as Vassilis Tsitsanis , Yiannis Papaioannou, Stelios Keromytis, Bagianteras, Panagiotis Tountas and Vangelis Papazoglou wrote for him. Around 400 songs were released on record.

After a concert at "Spilia" nightclub (New York City), he died of a stroke on November 16, 1971.
