Remarks

The work was written towards the end of the composer's first trip to Russia and was premiered in Pavlovsk on October 13, 1856 at the latest. The title name is probably derived from the terraces of the castle in Strelna , which is now called the Palace of Constantine . It has not been established whether the quadrille was played on those terraces.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 5 minutes and 22 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
