history
Střelná was probably created in the middle of the 13th century during the war campaigns of Ottokar II Přemysl against the Hungarians. At that time a fortress was built on the Tisůvek hill to protect the border and the pass. Archers originally settled in the Moravian border village on the Hungarian border , who defended the pass and the national border against incursions. The name of the place is derived from these marksmen. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1479 in the course of a border dispute between the lords of Brumov and Lednice . In the 16th century the Lords of Lomnitz acquired the village belonging to the Brumov domain.
Until the 18th century, the inhabitants suffered from incursions from the Hungarian side. In 1663 the Turks invaded and devastated the village. Between 1704 and 1708 the ruined Kuruc place. The border guards, which the residents of Lidečko also had to perform, continued until the 18th century. The first school was built in 1827. From the middle of the 19th century, the first glass and seating furniture factories were established in the area. The economic hardship led to the fact that residents of the place emigrated to America from the middle of the 19th century. With the construction of the double-track main line Púchov – Horní Lideč and a tunnel between 1933 and 1935, many residents found work in the village again. The tunnel was built by Italian experts from two sides. When the construction was completed, most of the residents found work at Československá zbrojovka in Vsetín and Bohuslavice nad Vláří .
