Strengleikar
Strengleikar is the scientific term for a group of 21 Old Norse prose pieces that were transferred from the Old French Lais to Nordic in the middle of the 13th century under King Håkon IV (Norway) . The pieces were not faithfully transcribed by different hands according to the French model, and in some cases even very severely shortened.
The content of the plays is based in the region of Brittany , southern England and Wales . In Januals Ljod after the submission Lanval and Geitarlauf from Cheèèvrefeuil (the honeysuckle ) contain substances of Arthurian legend .
