Stringendo Zurich

The Stringendo Zurich is a Zurich- based chamber orchestra . It was founded in 1999 by Jens Lohmann and is managed by him.

history

The orchestra consists of twelve strings, occasionally other instruments are added. The Stringendo Zurich was originally considered a youth orchestra. Concerts, competition successes, tours and CD recordings followed. Established musicians and talented students who are still studying have played in the orchestra since 2007.

The orchestra made its first major appearance in 2000 in the Zurich Tonhalle . In the same year he performed in the Czech Republic as part of a concert tour and a multi-part concert cycle in Zurich. The first CD production followed in 2001. In 2001 and 2002, the orchestra made numerous concert appearances through Switzerland. In 2003, Stringendo Zurich was awarded first prize at the Swiss Youth Chamber Orchestra Competition in Aarau. From the 2003/2004 season onwards, the orchestra expanded its appearances to include other European countries and performed on a tour of Germany in Stuttgart, Freiburg, Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf. In 2008 Lohmann founded a newcomer Stringendo for young people: Stringendo 14 . In the year he was born, he played numerous concerts in Switzerland, traveled to southern France and won the Zurich music competition for orchestra. In recent years there have been musical encounters with established soloists and conductors. In 2012, Stringendo 14 won the final of the prestigious Valiant competition in Murten.
