Strojimir

Strojimir (* 848 ; † 890 ), the second son of the Serbian prince Vlastimir , was a Župan Rasziens from approx. 860 to 890.

With his brothers Mutimir , the Grand Župan and Gojnik , who was co-regent, he repulsed Bulgarian attacks under Khan Boris . During the rule of Strojimir and his brothers, the Christianization of the Serbian tribes was completed. They were followed by the sons of Mutimir around Prvoslav .

Under Prince Strojimir, Serbia received its own state symbols, which today are the oldest evidence that a Serbian state was founded in the 9th century. The oldest known historical witnesses to Serbia's statehood were up to now from the 12th century. was bought by the Serbian government at a Munich auction on July 11, 2006 for € 20,000.
