Stroker and Hoop is an American animated - television series from the years 2004 and 2005. The series parodied cop shows of the 1970s, such as Starsky & Hutch .
Characters
John Strockmeyer , also Stroker , only likes his job as a private investigator because it gives him the power to shoot people and many contacts with women. His wife left him and got sole custody of their son (Keith). Due to his incompetence and negligence, his ex-partner was murdered (he fiddled with his gun without telling him about it).
Hoop Schwartz is Stroker's always optimistic partner. He considers himself a genius and a master of disguise. His disguises usually don't even cover his face. When he shoots a gangster, he confesses to Stroker that this would be the first time he has hit. In fact, it is noticeable that Hoop holds the pistol almost straight up when he fires in the remaining episodes.
CARR is Strokers Auto and a parodic allusion to Michael Knight's Auto KITT or its counterpart KARR from the Knight Rider series . CARR can speak like this and has a sarcastic, snappy humor.
Coroner Rick is Strokers and Hoops source of information (in Starsky and Hutch it is Huggy Bear). In many episodes he actually solves the cases, but Stroker & Hoop collect the laurels.
Keith is Stroker's 10 year old son. He lives with his mother and has a strained relationship with his father Stroker, who neglects him.
publication
In the United States, Stroker and Hoop first aired from August 1, 2004 to December 25, 2005 on Cartoon Network's adult swim block . In February 2006, chief animator Les Harper announced on adultswim.com that the low viewership would not be enough for a second season. Therefore the show ends with a cliffhanger .
In Germany, the series was broadcast together with the other adult swim series from December 5, 2007 on the pay TV channel Sat.1 Comedy. The series is released in Germany from the age of 16.
