The Strzyżów Mountains (Polish: Pogórze Strzyżowskie ) consist of foothills of the Central Beskids in southern Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship . Its highest peak is the Bardo with 534 m. It is named after the town of Strzyżów , which lies on the northern edge of the mountains.
geography
The mountains are bordered by the Ciężkowice Mountains in the west, the Dynów Mountains in the east, the Jasło-Krosno Basin in the south and the Tarnów Plateau in the Sandomir Basin in the north . It lies between the Wisłoka rivers in the west and Wisłok in the east.

The mountains have an area of 900 km² and are divided into several ridges.
Cities
The only major city in the Strzyżów Mountains is Strzyżów .

Numerous marked hiking and cycling trails run through the mountains.
War cemeteries
At the beginning of the First World War, bitter fighting raged in the mountains between the advancing Russian army and the army of Austria-Hungary. Therefore, there are numerous military cemeteries from the First World War here.

The mountains are located in the Czarna Rzeka-Strzyżów Landscape Park .
