Stuart Jenks

Stuart Jenks (* 1948 ) is a historian of American origin.

Stuart Jenks studied German and Church History at Yale University . There he received his doctorate in 1976. From 1976 to 1981 Jenks was a research assistant at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute . His habilitation took place in 1985 at the Free University of Berlin . Jenks taught from 1985 until his retirement as professor for medieval history at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

His main areas of interest and research include the history of the Hanseatic League , German-English relations in the late Middle Ages and the economic history of the late Middle Ages. He is also a pioneer in the field of new media and history.
