Student accreditation pool

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The student accreditation pool is the organization of students in accreditation procedures in Germany. The accreditation pool trains students as reviewers for accreditation and evaluation procedures and describes itself as the only legitimate organization for sending student peers in quality assurance procedures to universities.

organization

The pool's legal transactions are handled through the free association of student bodies (FCS) in Berlin.

Students acquire membership in the pool by participating in an expert training course and being sent by a so-called pool - supporting organization ; In addition to the fzs, these are the state student representatives and the federal student council meetings . This connection is intended to guarantee the technical competence of the experts and the exchange with one another. The highest decision-making body of the accreditation pool is the pool networking meeting (PVT) , at which all pool-supporting organizations are entitled to vote.

The coordination committee of the student accreditation pool (KASAP) exists for the implementation of the decisions of the PVTs and the external representation of the pool . The student members of the Accreditation Council are nominated by the pool and, by virtue of their office, are also members of the coordination committee.

The pool is largely financed by the accreditation agencies.

Participation in the accreditation process

Accreditation agencies can use the accreditation pool to nominate student peers for accreditation and quality assurance procedures. The participation of student experts in accreditation procedures is prescribed in Germany by the Accreditation Council and is also a declared goal at European level.

In order to ensure the professional quality of the student reviewers, they are trained by the pool. The contents of the training include a. legal basis of accreditation, the structure of the accreditation system, the goals of the Bologna process and case studies. In addition, each expert must be sent and legitimized by a pool-supporting organization.

The main task of the students is to ensure that accredited courses can be studied - i.e. have an adequate number of exams, contain enough freedom for semesters and internships abroad, the workload complies with the requirements and the course goes beyond the mere imparting of factual knowledge. The opportunity to write appropriate reports gives students a relatively extensive opportunity to participate.

The problem is that not all subject groups and university types have a sufficient number of student reviewers organized in the pool. In particular, there is a lack of technical college students and students from art and music colleges.
