Tuition Foundation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tuition fee foundations collect part of the tuition fees at universities in order to finance teaching, equipment or scholarships from the proceeds of the foundation capital. In North Rhine-Westphalia , the share of the fees that is brought into the foundation may not exceed 20 percent of the university's total fees.

In contrast to student foundations , tuition fee foundations are not a voluntary initiative by students. In some cases, they have rights of co-determination in the allocation of foundation income.

Two tuition fee foundations at the University of Duisburg-Essen and at the Münster University of Applied Sciences are known to date.
