Stutterfly was a 1998 first under the name of Uncle Ed's Private Jet founded post-hardcore band. In February 2007 the band changed their name to Secret and Whisper due to the replacement of the front man and the resulting changes to their musical style.
history
The band was formed in 1998 in Kelowna , Canada . Founding members were Chris Stickney (vocals), Jordan Chase (bass, vocals), Bradyn Byron (guitar, vocals), and Craig Langerud (drums). In 2003 Jason Ciolli (guitar) joined the band, the following year Ryan Loerke took over the drums. Stickney left Stutterfly in 2006 and was replaced by Charles Furney after a brief competition. This left the Kelowna-based band thebleedingalarm. The band sold 3,000 copies of the Demo Hollow during their performances. Broken in Pieces , the first full-length album, was released in 2002 and later re-released by the band's own label The Elysien Project .
Stutterfly established itself on the music website MP3.com and was widely downloaded. Thanks to the help of Los Angeles- based Freeze Management, Stutterfly signed a contract with Madonna's Maverick Records in the summer of 2003 , and they later went on tour with Story of the Year , which is under contract with the same label.
Under the production of Ulrich Wild, the album And We Are Bled of Color was released on June 21, 2005 , which contains new versions of several Broken-in-Pieces ... pieces. There are also music videos produced for "Gun in Hand" and "Fire Whispers".
Some time after And We Are Bled of Color was released, Stutterfly got kicked out by Maverick. In August 2006 singer Chris Stickney left the band on good terms. Charles Furney, previously a member of thebleedingalarm , joined later in 2006.
With the new front man, a new style of music was introduced and with it the decision to rename. This was announced on the band's MySpace page on February 6th. The new name Secret and Whisper was announced on February 24, 2007.
