The Stuttgart-Cannstatter rowing club from 1910 e. V. (Abbreviation StCRC ) is a rowing club from the Stuttgart district of Stuttgart-Mühlhausen am Neckar . It is the largest rowing club in Stuttgart .

The Stuttgart-Cannstatter Rowing Club (StCRC) currently has around 520 members (as of 2019). Around 25% of these are children and young people under 19 years of age.

The StCRC boathouse is located directly on the Neckar in the Stuttgart-Mühlhausen district. The rowing area of ​​the StCRC extends over about six kilometers between the locks Bad Cannstatt (near Wilhelma ) and Stuttgart-Hofen (near Max-Eyth-See ). The existing boat park currently comprises 75 different boats with around 190 rowing places. The association enables its active members between the ages of ten and 85 to practice rowing both as a competitive sport and as a popular sport. The racing rowers compete in regional, national and international competitions in all age groups. From juniors to seniors to master races, participants take part in short and long-distance regattas. In addition, four to five hiking trips are offered to members each year.

The StCRC employs two full-time trainers (50% each), four part-time trainers and one “ Bufdi ”. The rowing school for adults has a part-time trainer and around eight other instructors.

history

The Stuttgart-Cannstatter rowing club was founded on September 1st, 1910 in a wooden shed on Berger Insel in Bad Cannstatt and developed further from 1912 with its own boathouse at the Gaisburger Wehr. Due to the First and Second World War, the club addresses changed several times. From 1960, the current boathouse in the Stuttgart-Mühlhausen district was planned and built and inaugurated in 1965.

The "Stuttgart City Eight" takes place annually. The regatta for eight boats on the middle Neckar takes place in spring. Since 1987 it has been about the challenge of the “Cannstatter Kanne”. The regatta aims to strengthen team sport in the juniors' eight (A, B), women 's eight, men' s eight and company eight classes. The fastest club eight wins the “Cannstatter Kanne” on the long distance and the “Heinz Fritsch Cup” as a challenge prize in the sprint.

StCRC rowers have successfully participated in many regional, national and international regattas since the club was founded.
