Subaru World Rally Team

The Subaru World Rally Team competed in the World Rally Championship (WRC) from 1993 to 2008 as Subaru's works team .

The Japanese team won the Manufacturers' World Championship three times, in 1995 , 1996 and 1997 . In 1995, Colin McRae with the Subaru Impreza driver world champion, in 2001 , it did him Richard Burns equal and 2003 Petter Solberg . In total, Subaru drivers stood on top of the podium as winners 47 times. Because of the poor economic situation, Subaru WRT withdrew from the World Rally Championship at the end of the 2008 season, and there have been no major successes since 2005 .

The racing car, the Subaru Impreza WRC, was painted in an unmistakable blue with yellow lettering from 1994 to 2003 by the cigarette sponsor. The Legacy RS model was used in 1993, followed by the Impreza WRC in repeated modified form up to and including 2008.
