Submission is a Danish death / thrash metal band from Esbjerg .
history
Submission was founded in April 2003 by guitarists Kasper Kirkegard and Christopher Petersen. After a few months, the duo decided to look for more musicians. Kirkegaard brought along singer Steven Qvist and drummer Thomas Sørensen, two old friends. The latter was soon replaced by Morten Løwe Sørensen.
After a while the band had written a number of their own songs. In December 2003 the band recorded a demo which was not released until July 2004 for various reasons. At the Danish Metal Awards the band won in the category "Best Demo / Self-Financed CD". In the meantime Bjarne Kristiansen has been hired as a permanent bass player.
At the end of 2004 the band returned to the studio to record the EP "Pain Or Pleasure". The EP brought the band a contract with the French company Listenable Records . In the summer of 2005, Submission performed at the Roskilde Festival . Bassist Bjarne Kristiansen left the band and was replaced by Boris Tandrup.
In spring 2006 the debut album "Failure To Perfection" was released. The album received good reviews from metal magazines and earned the band an award for "Best Debut Album" at the Danish Metal Awards. In mid-January 2007 the band and Listenable Records parted ways. At the moment the band is looking for a new record company.
