Succotash

Succotash (from the Narragansett language : msikwatash ) is an American dish that consists primarily of lima beans and corn . Some variations also have meat, e.g. B. Bacon as an ingredient. Sometimes it is also baked with a dough crust.

This type of food preparation became popular in the United States during the Great Depression , similar to the German stew . In parts of the southern United States, any preparation of vegetables with butter or lard is called succotash.

Succotash is a traditional dish eaten on Thanksgiving and Christmas .
