The Sudenburger Brauhaus was a beer brewery in Magdeburg . Until it was closed shortly after the fall of the Wall, the company headquarters was in Langen Weg in the Sudenburg district .

history

The Sudenburger Brauhaus was founded in 1882 as Sudenburger Brauhaus, Dummer & Döring . 150,000 hectoliters of beer were already brewed in the first business year . The advertising slogan "... and after work we drink the good Sudenburger beer" also became known beyond Magdeburg's borders.

The company operated under this name until the end of the Second World War . In 1952 the brewing business was continued as VVB of the brewing and malting industry, VEB Sudenburger Brauhaus . From 1961 the Sudenburger Brauhaus became part of the newly founded VEB United Breweries Magdeburg as "Plant III" . The Diamant brewery in the Neue Neustadt became “Plant I”, and the Börde Brewery in the Alte Neustadt district became “Plant II” .

From the mid-1970s, only non-alcoholic drinks were produced. Shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the brewery was completely shut down and the factories demolished. Only the double villa of the company founders Dummer and Döring in Langen Weg is still preserved today.

Since the middle of 2014 the "Magdeburger Getränkekombinat GmbH" has been offering a "Sudenburger Bier" brewed in Naila (Upper Franconia). The beer has been brewed in its own brewery in Magdeburg since August 2017.
