Sue Howland

Sue Howland (actually Suzanne Howland ; born September 4, 1960 ) is a former Australian javelin thrower .

In 1982 she won the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane . A fourth place at the Athletics World Cup 1985 in Canberra was followed by a bronze medal at the 1986 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

In 1987 she was excluded from the World Athletics Championships in Rome after she tested positive for anabolic steroids in a doping control .

After a two-year ban for this violation of the doping regulations , she won silver at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland and was seventh at the 1992 World Cup in Havana.

In 1986 and 1987 she was Australian champion. Her personal best of 69.80 m she set on June 30, 1986 in Belfast .
