Sue Mongredien

Sue Mongredien

Sue Mongredien (* 1970 in Nottingham , Great Britain ) is a British writer . She publishes her books under her own name and under the pseudonyms Lucy Diamond and Alexandra Moss .

Life

Sue Mongredien grew up with three siblings in Nottingham. She studied English literature at the University of Leeds . After graduating, she lived in London and worked as an assistant in publishing . After a year and a half trip, including to Australia and New Zealand, which she financed with odd jobs along the way, she returned to Great Britain. There she worked again in the publishing industry, met her future husband and had the first two of their three children. The family moved to Brighton . By then she had already written several children's books under her own name and then took an evening class in creative writing . Her novel "Any Way You Want Me" originates from this time, for which she received an offer from the publisher Pan Macmillan and which she published under the pseudonym Lucy Diamond. Today the family lives in Bath .

Pseudonyms

According to Sue Mongredien, in addition to her own name for children's books (and Alexandra Moss for books on ballet), she uses the pseudonym Lucy Diamond in order to keep the genres of her books separate and because "Diamond" is easier to spell and pronounce than "Mongredien" .
