The artistic work

Williams' work reflects diverse fields of American painting, from abstract expressionism to elements of popular comic drawings on the one hand, the satirical illumination of social conditions and phenomena in America, such as B. Political Correctness or the ubiquitous violence on the other hand. In the black and white pictures taken during the 1990s, the theme of "male violence against women" plays the dominant role. In her newer paintings, which at first glance appear playful due to the bright colors, she sprinkles a dense abundance or loosely thrown sketches of body parts, internal human organs and body fluids or elements reminiscent of microscopic images of organic material over large-format white canvases.
