Sugar daddy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sugar daddy , and Sugar Daddy (of English sugar for sugar or candy and Daddy as a pet name for father) Men are called to maintain a sexual way usually longer-term relationship with much younger partners or partners that it will get a tangible return. A woman who supports a man financially is sometimes referred to as a sugar mommy . In contrast to a client who enters into a short-term, purely sexual relationship for a fee, a sugar daddy or a sugar mommy often sees himself as a " patron ", " sponsor " or "patron". The respective partners are referred to as Sugar baby , Trophy wife , Boy toy , Babyboy , Kitten or Toy boy (English toy , "toy" and boy , "boy").

In order to maintain the relationship, the younger one usually expects material consideration from the older partner - this can be money, livelihood or goods, but it can also consist of career advancement. This type of relationship is mostly characterized by the younger partner's financial dependency, while the relationship structure and its individual interpersonal rules are determined by the older partner. In fact, it can be a form of prostitution in the colloquial sense, even if it is not defined as such by the parties involved and is not a criminal form of prostitution, unless it is about sexual acts with minors for material consideration.

In the English - and increasingly also in the German - language, the expression is also transferred to other areas of life, for example governments or organizations are referred to as sugar daddies if they give certain social currents or interest groups high levels of funding, subsidies or other above-average support .
