Sumire Uesaka
Sumire Uesaka ( Japanese 上 坂 す み れ , Uesaka Sumire ; born December 19, 1991 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and singer.
Life
Sumire Uesaka attended private elementary, middle and high schools belonging to Kamakura Women's University and then began studying Russian at Sophia University , which she graduated in April 2014. She herself is a fan of Russian culture, especially the Soviet era .
She began her career as a child model for the Space Craft agency, where she had her first job at the age of 9 in a commercial for the Vidal Sassoon brand . She later also worked as a model for the Gothic Lolita fashion brand Baby, the Stars Shine Bright . In 2011 she switched to the anime section of her agency to work as a voice actress in the future. Her first role as a voice actor was in the online game Toy Wars . Her anime debut followed in the series Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai, which aired from January 2012 ! , in which she spoke to one of the main female characters in the role of Sora Takanashi. Her breakthrough was consolidated with larger roles in the series Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai! and Girls and Panzer , in the latter of which she sang the folk song Katyusha in Russian with Hisako Kanemoto .
In many series, she also sang the opening and closing titles under her respective role names. In 2013 she signed a contract with the StarChild record label, which also released her first single Nanatsu no Umi yori Kimo no Umi , which was used as the theme song for the series Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san and entered the Oricon charts at number 13 . This and her second single Genshi, Joshi wa, Taiyō datta. for the series Genshiken Nidaime were combined in January 2014 to their first album Kakumeiteki Broadway Shugisha Dōmei , which started with number 9 in the top ten.
