history

SunTechnics was founded in 1996 by Hans-Martin Rüter as a one-man company in Hamburg. The product distribution in Germany took place via a franchising system , whereby the franchisee z. B. had to pay 10,000 euros in 2003.

The planning and installation company had strongly advanced its international growth. In addition to the first foreign presence in Switzerland, Spain and Portugal, SunTechnics founded further subsidiaries in the USA and India in 2005 and has also been active in South Korea , Singapore , Brazil , Italy , Belgium , Greece and France since 2006 . Subsidiaries in Thailand and the People's Republic of China followed. In 2006 the company generated sales of around 343 million euros.

In addition to the freelance franchisees, more than 850 employees worked for SunTechnics worldwide.

In 2005 SunTechnics GmbH became a subsidiary of Conergy AG. In 2008 it was merged with Conergy Deutschland GmbH, whereby the SunTechnics brand was retained.
