Sun City West is a census-designated place in Maricopa County in the US state of Arizona . The city is on US Highway 60 and Arizona State Route 303 .
history
Before Sun City West was founded, the area was largely made up of farms that grew cotton. When the city of Sun City grew far beyond its city limits in the late 1980s, the independent Sun City West was founded by the Del E. Webb Corporation .
