The Sunanda Devi (also Nanda Devi East ) is a 7434 m high mountain in the Himalayas in Uttarakhand ( India ).
The Sunanda Devi is located in the eastern Garhwal Himalayas in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve . It is the eastern summit of Nanda Devi (7816 m), 2.62 km to the west .
The first ascent was made on July 2, 1939 by a group of four Polish mountaineers ( Jakub Bujak , Janusz Klarner , Adam Karpiński and Stefan Bernadzikiewicz ) coming from the east over Longstaff's Col and the south ridge.
