Sunbeam Talbot 80 Mk I.

The Sunbeam-Talbot 80 is a four-door sedan that the Rootes Group launched in 1948 as the successor to the Sunbeam-Talbot Ten . The model was also available as a convertible . The tourer, which was still available on the previous model, was no longer available.

The sedan now had headlights integrated into the fenders and a rear-hinged bonnet. The rear wheels were covered with "spats"; the running boards were omitted. The four-cylinder in - line engine with 1185 cm³ displacement was taken over from its predecessor, but received overhead valves ( OHV ), which gave it 47 bhp (34.5 kW) power. All four wheels were still suspended from semi-elliptical leaf springs. The vehicle reached a top speed of 117 km / h, which also made it suitable for rallies (e.g. Monte Carlo Rally ).

The Sunbeam-Talbot 90 was delivered with the same body, but a more powerful engine .

In 1950 the model was discontinued without a successor.
