history

The Sunday Star-Times was founded in 1994 and was the result of a merger between Wellington- based The Dominion Sunday Times and The Sunday Star , which was founded in Auckland in 1986 by Michael Bryant Forbes just eight years earlier . The Independent Newspapers Limited (INL), which merged the two papers, sold all of its New Zealand newspapers in 2003 to the Australian media group Fairfax Media Limited , including the Sunday Star-Times , for over NZ $ 1 billion .

today

The Sunday Star-Times , which in addition to the main editorial office in Auckland, also operates news offices in Wellington and Christchurch , covers national and international topics and is now also published in numerous regional editions. In terms of content, the issues are divided into seven sections, News, Sport, Focus, Escape, SUNDAY magazine, Business and ABOUTtown (only in Auckland).
