The Sungold Hill ( English for sun gold hill ) is a 860 m high hill with conspicuously arched slopes in the south of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It rises 3 km inland between Cape Foster and Jefford Point .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys between 1958 and 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1964 after the distinctive color of its rock.
