Sunshine Coast (dt. Sunshine Coast ) is a coastal region in the south of the Canadian province of British Columbia . It is located immediately northwest of the metropolitan area Metro Vancouver on the Strait of Georgia and essentially comprises the coastline of the Sunshine Coast Regional District .

Although the region has a medium population density (compared to the rest of the province), it cannot be reached by land, but only with ferries operated by BC Ferries . Because of the steeply sloping terrain, no access roads were built from adjacent regions. The largest towns on the Sunshine Coast are Gibsons (4400 inhabitants) and Sechelt (8500 inhabitants).
