Suomen Pankki ( Finnish official translation 'Bank of Finland', literally 'Finnish Bank'; Swedish Finlands Bank ; English Bank of Finland ) is the central bank of Finland . It is the fourth oldest central bank in the world.
The Bank of Finland is a member of the European System of Central Banks and is responsible for the procurement, regulation and production of the necessary means of payment in Finland.
There are branches in Vantaa , Kuopio , Tampere , Oulu and Turku .
history
On March 1, 1811 in the Grand Duchy of Finland in Turku , the former capital of Finland, Tsar Alexander I with Waihetus- Laina- yes Depositioni-Contori established (, exchange, credit and deposition Kontor '), the predecessor bank of the Finnish central bank. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Finland , the operation of the Bank of Finland is guaranteed and supervised by Parliament . At the head of the board of directors is the governor appointed by the Finnish President on a presentation by the Bank Committee . The other members of the Board of Directors are appointed directly by the Bank Committee. The governor's term of office is seven years and that of the board of directors is five years.
The independent financial supervisory authority Finanssivalvonta (FIN-FSA), which monitors the financial markets, acts in conjunction with the bank .
