Superior Donuts is an American sitcom based on the Tracy Letts play of the same name . It was broadcast from February 2, 2017 to May 14, 2018 on CBS and consists of two seasons with a total of 34 episodes. Showrunners were Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan.

On March 23, 2017, CBS extended the series for a second season, which premiered on October 30, 2017. On November 27, 2017, CBS ordered a further eight episodes and for the second season 21 episodes. After two seasons and 34 episodes, the sitcom was canceled by CBS on May 12, 2018.

The series revolves around the relationship between donut shop owner Arthur Przybyszewski, his new young employee Franco Wicks, and the store's various customers in Chicago 's Uptown neighborhood. With the donut shop struggling financially, Franco makes suggestions to the sometimes reluctant Arthur for improvement and modernization. Supporting patrons at Superior Donuts include cop Randy, whose late father was Arthur's best friend, and Tush, who uses the counter as a makeshift office to oversee a variety of odd jobs with his fax machine .
