Superkombat (SK), spelling SUPERKOMBAT , is a Romanian kickboxing organization. Along with K-1 and Glory, it is one of the largest kickboxing organizers in Europe.
history
The company is headquartered in Bucharest and was founded in January 2011 by Eduard Irimia. On May 18, 2011, the first major event under the title World Grand Prix took place in Ramnicu Valcea . SK combines techniques from boxing , karate , muay thai , judo , taekwondo , kickboxing , savate and many other martial arts. Like K-1, the fighters are not tied to the promotion, but Superkombat offers regional and local talent space at the respective major event on site. The organizer collaborates with K-1 and the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) , among others . The collaboration with K-1 ended in April 2013.
In 2011 a television contract was signed with Eurosport . The contract was renewed in 2014. In 2013 a television contract was signed with Fight Now TV in North America . The website Epicentre.tv secured the internet broadcasting rights in 2013.
