The Surprise is a small sailing yacht and boat class .

Surprise on the Großer Brombachsee

The designer Michel Joubert originally wanted to design a cozy sailboat for family outings. To his great surprise, however, the boat was much sportier than planned. The surprise became an internationally popular regatta class. Today it is particularly widespread in France, Austria, Switzerland and southern Germany. She has four bunks. The standing height in the cabin is 1.45 m.

The Surprise is being built at Archambault Yachts near La Rochelle .
