Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Susan Elizabeth Phillips (born December 11, 1948 in Cincinnati ), also known under the pseudonym Justine Cole , is the author of a number of humorous romantic novels . Her books have appeared on the New York Times bestseller lists several times .
Life
Susan Elizabeth Phillips studied drama at Ohio University and then worked as a teacher at an American high school. She met her husband, an engineer, while studying. Their first son was born two years after the wedding. Today she lives with her husband in a suburb of Chicago and is the mother of two grown sons. Her youngest son, Zach Phillips, is a musician. One of his two albums so far, This Heart of Mine , forms the background music to the author's novel of the same name (German title: Verliebt, ver sucht, Ehe , 2002).
She wrote her first novel, The Copeland Bride , with her friend. It was published in 1983 under the pseudonym Justine Cole.
With her series of books about the Chicago Stars football heroes , Phillips also succeeded in gaining a larger, predominantly female readership for himself in Germany.

Works
The novel Breakfast in Bed is set in the southern United States and is about a former beauty queen named Sugar Beth and her former British teacher Colin Bryne. The novel Kiss Me If You Can is about the matchmaker Annabell Granger, who is supposed to get the difficult client Heath Champion under the hood.
Her 2007 novel This Man Makes Me Mad is about Blue Bailey, a woman who is dumped in the province of Tennessee by her boyfriend.
This book also belongs to the Chicago series and thus expands it to 7 published books. In the author's notes it can be read that two of the titles mentioned in this book are based on real songs by her son Zach Phillips.
In 2012 her latest novel, The Great Escape, was published in English. This was published in German in May 2013 under the title Who says yes, must really dare .
