Susan Harris

Susan Harris (born October 28, 1940 in Mount Vernon , New York ) is an American screenwriter .

Life and professional successes

She achieved great fame through the cult series Golden Girls she developed . In total, she wrote 77 out of 180 screenplays for this television series, which greatly influenced the series' main plot.

Over the past 40 years, Susan Harris was involved in a number of major sitcom formats in the US as a screenwriter with and thus strengthened the foundation for the largest independent television production companies in the United States.

She was married to producer Paul Junge Witt until his death in 2018 . Her last project to date as a screenwriter was in 1993 for the television series Brighton Belles .

She is currently working on other joint projects in her production company Witt / Thomas / Harris TV Production Company.
